Bon anniversaire papa

Hey if you have been reading conscientiously my blog (well I feel bad for you because I have not been conscientious at all to update regularly my blog...) you may deduce that it has been one year since my last "Bon anniversaire papa" post.
So here we are again and this time it is hard for me because I would have liked so much be in France to celebrate my dad's birthday, I feel way to fare.
But I guess it is the price to pay to have my very nice and exciting life here: I have to deal with the fact that a lot of the people I love, live in the other part of the world.

Well anyway, today is my dad's birthday and I know that plenty of people have been using this occasion to let him know how much they appreciate him, so have I.
I just have to wait a few months and I'll see again all my family, so after all this is not too bad. And also the communications through Internet allow me to keep contact with a lot of people in France. So even if sometime I feel a little sad, most of the time I feel that even the people far away, are not that far.....

Ski and Snowbard in Tahoe, Finally!!!!

It's a unfortunate but I have been waiting middle of February to go to my first Tahoe weekend. The snow this year has been missing until now.... But well, it was a very nice weekend. I don't feel like explaining everything so I'm going to make it short.
We went Friday night at the Cabin with Olivia and Jan. Daniel joined us on Saturday morning. The weather was great and the snow a little slushy.
I took my ski on Saturday which allowed me to follow Jan and Daniel on their snowboard.... And I used my snowboard on Sunday with Olivia who is a beginner.
Olivia is obviously going to improve her level in no time.
And last detail, I had the chance to meet a bunch of guys at the cabin and we had a very good time. As usual in California, it was a melting pot of people coming from all other the world.

Oh yes I forgot, Tahoe weekend are not only about skiing, snowboarding, eating fantastic food, meeting friends and getting to know new people.... It is also about beer.....
Cheers....

La saint Valentin (Valentine's day for the americans)

Hey there, it has been a while, I'm sorry about that.... Just a short post before I start working this morning.
Yesterday was the Valentine's day as everyone is aware of. I've listened to the french radio station (Yes yes Gwen, it was France Inter....) and they were explaining that in Arabia the religious police was making sure nobody would celebrate this event, it sounds really weird.....Here in US, I have the impression it's quite the contrary: everybody is making sure "YOU ARE GOING TO CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY". I don't affectionate that much this special day, this is another great event for jewelry stores, chocolate makers and flower sellers..... For me it is another reminder for all these single people who have not manage to get any boy(/girl)friend (yes yes I'm part of the group). Anyway, the curious thing in the US is that Valentine's day is not only for lovers, everybody wish an happy Valentine's day to everybody, kids can make a present to their mother, my basketball teammates gave me some candies, chocolate cakes...... I talked with my Yoga teacher about that (for this special day, nobody went to Yoga except me and the teacher....), and she explained me that it was an occasion for people who are usually not incline in making anything special to their lover to feel like doing it...... So my Yoga teacher wished me an happy Valentine's day with a nice little card I picked in a basket: "Love and tornadoes can never pass unnoticed".... Well OK, can I be facetious and say that "tornadoes destroyed a lot and may cause a lot of pain, like love...."? Yoga teachers have a great way of having answer to any questions and turn anything into a positive way, this is funny... For my day to day life, I'm not always peaceful and cool, I just do what I can.....
